Eltrio was a Prince of Argonia, and the elder brother of Clavius, who became King of Argonia when Eltrio could not be found to ascend to the throne. Clavius: Ruler of the Kingdom of Argonia and father of Prince Charmles. mostly unlikeable because of his over-cockiness and cowardly nature. 
The party has to help him during the royal initiation to secure an artifact for their mission.

Though they are suspicious of the Hero and Yangus upon arrival, they don't take too long to trust the party. Bangerz and Mash: Two boys who help Jessica Albert to keep Alexandria safe. She pleads with the Hero before he leaves Farebury to assist her in regaining her father's clairvoyant powers. Valentina: Adopted daughter of Kalderasha. The 3DS version of the game sees him presenting Dhoulmagus' original after the party defeats the boss of Arcadia The loss of his fortune-telling skills is what sets into motion the Hero's first quest. Kalderasha: An out-of-work fortune teller. See main article: Party (Dragon Quest VIII). Stella also stars in her own Battle Road. She will join the party in Chapter 1, Episode 4 of the event quests and she can be fully awakened by collecting Stella Crystals which can be farmed in Call me Wise Friend! in Wishes Come True. Stella appears as a S-rank member of the ? family as part of the limited Dragon Quest IX event. Talking to her nets the Hero several rewards, and taking her picture will unlock challenges in Cameron's Codex. Stella appears in the 3DS version in various places on the world map after defeating Rhapthorne the first time. Stella appears as a playable character in Fortune Street. She was released (in Japan only) as one of many monsters in a cooperative promotion between McDonald's and Square Enix. She speaks like a "Gal," a term used to describe a young girl, and is notoriously prone to malapropisms.
